Rolls Royce Leisure 1 Hucknall Sports U16's 1
Saturday 11th October 2003
The
spoils were shared in a closely fought derby match, but Sports will feel they
probably did enough to win all three points.
Sports took time to adapt to the tiny pitch, and all the early chances fell to
Rolls. The Sports back-line eventually buckled under increasing pressure, when a
free-kick was nodded home by Barker. Sports bounced back however with Ward and
Dhiri both spurned good chances. The half ended in dramatic fashion when
Billyeald conceded a controversial penalty. Justice prevailed though when
'keeper Craig Raynor pulled off a terrific save.
A stern half-time team talk stung Sports into action, and inspired by man-of-the
match Ross Billyeald, they assumed control of affairs. A Rolls defensive mix up
eventually allowed Dhiri to claim the equaliser Sports richly deserved.
After that both teams put on the pressure, but valiant defending ensured the
game ended even.
