Hucknall Sports U12's Saturday 3 Rolls Royce Black 0

SPORTS MAKE IT A SEASON TREBLE OVER LOCAL RIVALS ROLLS-ROYCE.

Vijay Digpal sealed his transfer debut from Hucknall Rolls to Sports with 2 goals and the Man-of-the-Match Trophy.

Sports, against the wind, took the game to Rolls and settled deep in the visitors half from early on, with their enhanced front line impacting the score line after 15 minutes with the only goal of the first half, coming from the newly signed; Vijay.

A wind assisted second half proved all the more eventful.  Just six minutes from the re-start, a superbly laid back ball across the Rolls goal mouth from Sam Sims, gave the unmarked Jan Westrik the perfect opportunity to pick his spot for Sports’ second.  Rolls succumbed to more pressure from Sports, conceding a handball penalty from a deep Ross Lamb throw on 20 minutes, converted confidently from the spot by Vijay (pictured right)  for his second of the afternoon.

Sports finished off strongly, both goal scorers having further chances, one being denied by the cross-bar and the other by a fine save by the Rolls ‘keeper from a second penalty spot kick.
