Hucknall Sports U12's Saturday 4 Carlton Boys 0

SPORTS EXTEND A GOOD HOME RUN.

An excellent 8 game league run has seen this promising team unbeaten since Mid November, they’ve tucked away 10 goals in the last 3 matches, and their league goal difference equals their number of appearances at +17.  These impressive statistics are a true reflection of the team’s commitment to each other, on and off the pitch, players, staff and parents alike.

Carlton Boys 2000 managed to hold off the home side for the first 20 minutes or so, but when Hucknall Sports settled down to put their acclaimed football skills to effect, it took just 3 more minutes for a scorching Sam Sims break down the left flank to cross, finding the perfectly positioned Jan Westrik, to break the deadlock.  Just 5 minutes after the interval, a superbly launched Ross Lamb cross totally confused the visiting defence, fumbling the inevitable, to bring Lamb’s total this season up to 7.

With a firm grip on the game, Hucknall Sports went on make it four, with a superb individual effort from Vijay Digpal midway through the second half, and then a minute from time, the home supporters were delighted when a precision cross on the right from substitute Nathan Shepherd connected with the advancing Sam Sims, for a clinical finish.  Man-of-the-Match honours went to Shaun Holmes for his intelligent mid-field support and service to the Hucknall forwards.
