HUCKNALL’S TOUGHEST GAME SO FAR

After having remained unbeaten in the league for well over 4 months, Sports showed superb character throughout a very tough and well fought contest, where perhaps the horrendous weather conditions had the greatest influence over the result.

It was a tricky and challenging day for goal keepers, and once Ruddington found the way to the net after 13 minutes 2 more followed in close succession, one directly from a wind curled corner kick.

Hucknall threw all to the fore in the second half, but struggled to use the wind to break through the home defence, paying the price for their forward position, conceding twice from well co-ordinated breaks on 46 and 50 minutes.

Vijay Digpal still managed to maintain his 100% scoring record since joining this promising Hucknall Sports squad, and picked up the Man-of-the-Match title to boot.  Tucking away his first midway through the second half, and his second from making sure that a Sean Holmes lob did not miss the target in the closing minutes.
