SPORTS WIN PROMOTION
Hucknall Sports Under 13s won promotion to Division 2 with a hard fought fight against a good Beeston side who also had a good season.
Sports started off going great guns when after only 5 minutes they took the lead when a shot from Lee Elvidge was saved by the Beeston keeper only for Josh the Demon Davenport to slot home the rebound. Sports had other chances to score before the Demon made it 2 courtesy of a ball from Tom Walters. Sports keeper Jake Newbutt made 2 great saves before Beeston scored from a 15 yard chip. Sports then made 3-1 when again a ball from Mitch Newton found Tom Walters, who rounded the keeper and gave the ball to Josh the Demon Davenport to score his hat trick and his 25th goal of the season.
In the second half Beeston came at Sports and scored with a ball through to substitute Hylton who slotted the ball home. Sports made it 4 when a great ball out of defence from Paul Giller the Killer found Adam Solomon who found Lee Elvidge to smash the ball home from 15 yards out. The Sports defence held firm with Beeston throwing everything at them with great defending from Joe Todhunter, Paul Giller, Paul Parkinson and man of the match ROBERT HARRISON who did a great job, especially as he doesn't usually play in that position.
Manager PETE INNES would like to say well done to the lads and keep up the great work. With two matches left we are still in with a shout of winning the league and also we are in the final of the Trophy which is being played on the 29th April at Keyworth, kick off 6.30. Everyone is welcome.
