YEL U13's Trophy Quarter Final

Cup  holders Hucknall Sports beat a Wollaton side from a league above them to go into the semi finals of the YEL Trophy.

Sports started off with some great passing and took the lead after 10 minutes when a great ball from  versatile midfielder Adam Solomon (Solo) put through  James the destroyer Daykin who’s clever chip from 18 yards out went over the keeper and into the net. Wollaton made it 1-1 when a mix up in Sports defence saw  Wollaton pounce and they slotted home from 5 yards out.

The second half saw Sports dominate  with man of the match Joe Todhunter shooting from 25 yards out only for the keeper to make a great save. At the other end Jake Newbutt made sure Sports kept up the pressure with two great saves. Solo also headed against the bar and Joe Todhunter ran riot with the Wollaton defence. Sports took the lead with 6 minutes to go, when a ball from Nick Ward found Joe Todhunter to round the keeper and slot the ball home. Sports then decided to defend their slender lead and with one minute left Wollaton almost scored from a corner when the ball was kicked off the line from Paul Parkinson.
