Chesapeake 3 Hucknall Sports U14's Sunday 4
Sunday 7th March 2004
A first half display of confident, attacking football with crisp passing
moves left the home team dumbfounded.
Sports bossed the midfield through Kevin Farrell, Gaz Hayes, Matt Murphy and
power house Luke Thomas. After 5 minutes Scott Rogers broke down the right wing,
cut inside in the penalty area and laid a sweet ball across the six yard box for
Ross King to tap home.
Within minutes Sports were three up after two pin point corners from Joe Hunt
landed for Scott to finish with perfect precision. On Chesapeake's rare
attacks they were met with ferocious bone crunching tackles from Joe, Paul
Burgess and Jack Allen much to the dismay of the home supporters. Sports
finished the half with a fourth thanks to Luke after yet another slick passing
move from the midfield.
Into the second half Sports carried on in the same vain with Scott and Ross
running riot but failing to convert their chances. Midway through the half
with confidence running sky high Sports pressed the self destruct button,
failing to, cover for attacking defenders, they gifted the home team
getting three goals, one a penalty after jack Allen bounced the attacker without
thinking where he was.
Sports managed to hang on despite more scares at the back.
