Hucknall Sports U16's 4
Rolls Royce 1
Saturday 3rd January 2004
This was a typical end to end derby match with
good chances falling to both sides but Sports finished the game far stronger.
Rolls had territorial advantage in first half
playing with wind, but it was Sports who took the lead through Nikhil Dhiri
midway in the half when he followed up to score from close range after the
Rolls goalie spilled Cheeseman's shot. Rolls equalised through Ryan Orton when
Sports failed to clear a corner properly 10 minutes before half time.
In the second half Sports created themselves
far more chances with the wind at their backs and a blistering finish
from Cheeseman was no more than they deserved to go 2 - 1 up. Sports kept up
the pressure and were rewarded with 2 scrappy goals in goalmouth melees first
for Adam White and lastly for Cheeseman who put in a tremendous performance
against his old team.
