This is with no doubt the Reds best performance so far.
Right from the first whistle an excellent Carlton Town
applied the pressure and were rewarded with a much-deserved early goal. The Reds
were penned into their own half for much of the first half and got little chance
to go forward. With the consistent pressure Carlton scored twice more in the
first half. However, this said the Reds played out of their skins and defended
doggedly with Zac Squires (Man of the Match) having the game of his young life
between the sticks.
With a minor change in the second half the Reds contained Carlton, who it should be said have only lost once in sixteen games. The Reds created some chances in the second half but could not find a way to break Carlton down. Carlton who also continued to press forward could not find the space or the opportunities they had had in the first half due to the Reds superb team spirit and hard work.
Credit should be given to everyone who played in this match: - Zac Sqires, Lewis Thompson, Daniel Crump, Liam Kilcullen, Joe Mee, Richard Allen, Daniel Long, Harrison Carlin.
