Hucknall Sports U7's Red 1 Codnor 1

Saturday 6th March 2004

This was a very good team effort from the U7 Reds who were unlucky not to have won this game.

Reds goal, which scored by Joe Mee, came after an excellent passing move that started deep in the Reds half. Codnor however, did not give up and scored a very good goal on the break, after reds keeper Zac Squires had to leave the field through illness.

In the second half, Reds continued to pressure but some excellent defending and some superb saves from the Codnor keeper were to deny them further goals. Josh Knox who took on the role as Reds keeper in the second half was rock solid in an unfamiliar role and kept a clean sheet.

A win must surely be around the corner for the Reds and in this well played game the man of the match award went to Lewis Thompson who was exceptional.
