This scoreline does reflect the true nature of the game.
Hucknall scored early in the first half from some very fluent, passing football
culminating in a well-taken goal from Joe Mee. After the goal Hucknall continued
to press and had a number of good scoring chances but could not find the back of
the net again.
Late in the 1st half Hucknall conceded an own
goal whilst trying to clear their lines after a good spell of pressure from
Wollaton, which also saw them miss a penalty.
The start of the 2nd half however was a
different story. Hucknall seemed to lose their discipline and shape and Wollaton
took advantage and scored their 2nd goal. This seemed to wake
Hucknall up and Liam Kilcullen was only denied a goal by the woodwork. In what
was a well played match Wollaton made the most of their chances scoring twice
more.
This was a game that Wollaton didn’t so much win, but one that Hucknall gave away. Man of the match for Hucknall was Stephen Whittley for an excellent game and his hard work in defence.
