Hucknall Sports U7's White 12 Hucknall Sports U7's Red 0

Saturday 14th February 2004

In a match that was again played in rain between these two sides the under 7's white side showed their superiority from the off.

They were one up within the first minute and were five up by half time with goals coming from Joe Barnes (2), Kieran Shephard, Aaron Bond and Thomas Howarth. Mixed in between the goals was some excellent attacking football by the whites and stout defending by the red's, whom this was only their second full match.

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first half with whites doing all the attacking and this resulted in seven more goals being scored. All the scorers of the first half added to their tally with Joe Barnes scoring another two goals giving him his third hatrick in four matches, Kieran Shephard and Aaron Bond scored a further two goals each to complete their hatricks plus another goal from Thomas Howarth completed the scoring. A special mention must go to Andrew and Thomas Shaw who in defence started many a good move that resulted in one of the fore mentioned players  scoring a goal. Man of the match went to not one of the scorers but to Andrew Shaw for his defending and his constant runs forward to help his midfield and attack.

This second match was far more even in performance from both sides which saw the reds going one up before half time. As the game was well matched between both sides there wasn't many opportunities to score goals but to the whites credit they never gave up and up popped young Pym Westrik to score a valuable goal to salvage a draw for the whites.
