Bingham 0 Hucknall Sports U7's White 8

Sunday 14th March 2004

In what was a game of  two completely different halves Hucknall  came away with another win to remain unbeaten in 2004.

The first half started brightly with Hucknall pressing for an opening goal but Bingham defended well resulting in many an attack being broken down at the final hurdle. This also gave Bingham the confidence to attack Hucknall during what was a very scrappy first half. Although the half wasn't pretty football Joe Barnes made the goalkeeper make 3 or 4 excellent saves to keep Bingham in the game and the score at half time remained 0-0.

During the half time break the team had a re shuffle in player / positions and this had the right effect with the team playing far better football, resulting in Bingham being completely over-run by Hucknall.  This dominance saw Kieran Shephard scoring another 2 goals, but the biggest improvement came from Joe Barnes who plundered 5 excellent goals to keep  Sport's winning ways continuing. The other goal came from a Kieran Shephard corner and pressure from the Hucknall players that caused a Bingham player to score in his own net. This 2nd half was more like what Hucknall had been playing of late and they thoroughly deserved their win and 8-0 score line.

The man of the match was decided by the parents and they voted for Andrew Shaw who had a solid all round performance.
