Arnold FC 1 Hucknall Sports U9's 4
Sunday 8th of February 2004
After a week off due to the weather Sports returned to their winning ways with yet another away victory, this time at Arnold.
With a stiff breeze behind them Sports dominated the first half and scored three times in the space of ten minutes. Keirran Clarke scored the first after a darting run into the box whilst Jonathan Swain netted Sport's second from close range. Alex Smith was brought down inside the box to earn sports a penalty which Josh Henrys subsequently converted. A lapse of concentration at the back let Arnold in to make it 3-1 at half time.
In the second half, with the wind, Arnold came more into the game coming close on a number of occasions. The Sports defence of Matthew Yates, Fraser Flint and William Hillary absorbed all of this pressure and not long afterwards man of the match Jonathan Swain scored his second and Sport's fourth to make it 4-1 after a cross from Alex Smith.
In the end it was a comfortable win for Sports.
