Presidents Cup

After guaranteeing third place in the league this season Sports turned their attentions in trying to winning the newly formed Presidents Cup. This is a league format of five teams with each team playing each other once.

With Alex Smith ill, Sports had to reshuffle their formation with Jonathan Swain playing up front with Keirran Clarke playing right midfield and Cameron Tait playing center midfield. Sports got off to the worst possible start though when Kimberley scored with the first kick of the game directly from the kick off. Sports piled on the pressure, going close on a number of occasions, but just couldn't breach the Kimberley defence. Against the run of play Kimberley then doubled their lead and gave Sports an uphill battle for the second half.

It was mostly one way traffic in the second half with Sports looking to get back into the match. Josh Henrys scored midway through the second half but it was not enough as Kimberley clung onto their lead.

Sports will now have to capitalise on their excellent away form if they are to have any chance of winning this cup.
