Hucknall Sports U12's 1 Arnold Town Blue 1

Saturday 12th February 2005

Still sitting in third spot in division one, Sports have everything to play for.

Sports started very quite, it was not hard to see that we had been three weeks without a game.  Arnold took control and dominated the first half.  Halfway through the first half Arnold took advantage of a half steam Sports and scored.  The goal did seem to stir something in the Sports side
as they did start to pass and play some football.  Arnold though held on to the one goal lead as half time came.

The conditions were terrible, wind, sleet, rain and also a little sunshine.  Coming out on half time though Sports looked a different side, with pass and move football being played from their own goal
to the other end.  Arnold gave a great fight with some good football being played by both sides.  Sports determination showed as Arnolds keeper was tested several times.  The wave of pressure kept coming from Sports and the inevitable goal game half way through the second half with a blister of a shot from central defender Lewis Early.  Sports continued to apply pressure but a second goal would not come. Arnold had their moments in the second half, but Sports's ever tight defence held off any chance of getting a second.

In the second half all of the Sports players played like they wanted to win with excellent performances coming from them all.  Man of the match Alex Orton led by example with a tireless effort put in throughout the whole game.
