West Bridgford B 2 Hucknall Sports U12's 3
Saturday 19th February 2005
Conditions were far from ideal as the small pitch resembled a ploughed field. Against the run of play Bridgford picked up a loose ball near the 18 yard line and drove it home past a stranded Sports keeper . Fighting back quickly, Hucknall pushed hard and when a blatant hand ball on the line went unnoticed the official opted for a corner which was swung in and converted brilliantly by Callum Gospel.
The second half was end to end stuff with a number of goal mouth scrambles not ending in a goal. Sports had it all to do again though as sloppy marking gifted Bridgford a second This forced Hucknall to tighten the grip and with an outstanding effort by the team a second came their way, again by Gospel. The Sports' defence stood fast with the help of man of the match Lewis Early taking this game almost to a draw but a last minute surge from Sports let George Bradley fire an amazing winner dipping under the bar finishing 3-2 to Hucknall.
