Hucknall Sports U6's 2 Pegasus U7's 0

Saturday 12th February 2005

Hucknall Sports U6 Soccer School once again showed what a great little team they are becoming by beating Pegasus U7s 2-0 on a freezing cold Wigwam.

Playing against older boys you would have expected to come out on the wrong side of a heavy defeat but not this group of boys, who's never say die attitude is a joy to watch and a pleasure to coach. From the off the boys challenged stongly for every ball with the big strong Billy Platts dominating the heart of the defence. It came as no surprise though when Charlie Blatherwick gave the locals the lead, firing a sweet left-foot drive in from an acute angle.

Goal keeper Brandon Jones is by far the best young keeper I have ever seen and for a six year old to twice deny goal attempts by diving full length at the feet of the Pegasus forward is truly remarkable for a boy so young. Little Kieren Green is one of the players who all managers want in their team. His work rate is second to none and his tackles are that of much older boys.

Sports increased their lead midway through the second half when Nathen Brough fired a bullet free kick from just outside the box giving the keeper no chance which wrapped up another fine victory and keep their 100% record intact.

Once again I ask if there is anybody interested in coaching or managing this great young team then could they please contact Phil Barnes at the Soccer School.
