It took a superb goal from some excellent approach play to end the gridlock in this fantastic game where both sides gave it everything. 

If Pegasus came to Hucknall expecting an easy game they got a big surprise, as it was Sports who made all the early running and displayed a marvellous team spirit where they not only fought for every ball but played some skilful flowing football. Once Pegasus realised they were in a game they  started to play the kind of football that they had displayed in our previous encounters and the match developed into a real hard fought contest with both sides seeing goal scoring opportunities going amiss. Half time ended without a goal. 

The second half picked up where the first had finished with both sides giving their all, but after a Sports attack broke down in the Pegasus area midway through the half they were hit on the counter attack. Pegasus cleared the ball from their area to midfield then moved the ball quickly forward with two well weighted passes culminating with an excellent goal scored in the top right corner from just inside Sports’ box. This was to be the only goal of a superb match.
