Wollaton Hall B 2 Sports U9's White 6

Sunday 30th January 2005

Hucknall Sports U9's White made hard work of what turned out to be an easy win.

From the kick off Wollaton came at Sports trying to tack control of the game. they had several chances to take the lead but some last gasp defending and Aaron “cool hands Bradley kept them out.  On fifteen minutes sports took the lead when a Joe Gills goal kick found Joe Priestley who’s shot was spilt by the keeper for Matthew Brierley to tap in.  Wollaton came back and within a minute equalised when a goalmouth scramble was ended by a James Law goal.  With Wollaton the better team until the break Sports turned round level.

In the second half  Wollaton kicked off and man of the match Joe “H” Hewitt chased down the ball and two tackles later found himself clear on goal and able to put the ball past the advancing keeper.  From the kick off Sports again closed Wollaton down quickly and Joe “H” Hewitt found himself finishing with a low drive from the left side of the area.  The two goals in a minute stunned Wollaton who became overrun by a rampant Sports. Joe “H” Hewitt got his hat trick when he again scored with a low shot from out side the area.  Sports played some more flowing football and scored again when Joe Priestley let fly with a twenty yard top of the goal shot which the Wollaton keeper could only flap at as it hit the net.  With sports using all their subs the sixth goal came from substitute Michael South who tapped in at the far post after some good approach play down the left from Sam Wells.

Sports made hard work of this game and if they want to finish in the top three will need to take control earlier.
