Hucknall Sports White tasted defeat for the first time this season but went down fighting, with captain Joe Gill leading the way with a man of the match performance.

Sports, playing a Division One team some three leagues above themselves put up a battle for them all to be proud of. Sports started slow in the first half with Keyworth having most of the possession but they failed to make any real clear cut chances. After fifteen minutes Sports started to get more into the game and forced several corners from which Joe Gill and Matthew Brierley both went close heading just over the bar and the Keyworth keeper was forced into making a good save when he pushed a shot from Joe Hewitt over the bar. 

All square at half time with Sports hoping to get control in the second half but Keyworth had other ideas and came at Sports from the off and in a five minute spell went two up with goals from Tom Siswick. The goals were both well worked but they could have been stopped if Sports had been stronger in challenges. But cometh the hour cometh the captain and if any Sports player needed motivation the captain gave them it, shouting out orders, showing how to win the ball and also how to score. His first coming from a Joe Priestley corner, which captain Joe Gill leapt highest to meet and head powerfully into the top left hand corner. This got Sports going and after more and more pressure Sports got level when “captain marvel” Joe gill threw himself were angels fear to tread and meet a Joe Hewitt corner on the near post to head home with a fantastic diving header.
