Hucknall Sports U10's White 3 Attenborough Colts 0

Sunday 15th January 2006

Hucknall Sports White kept up their 100% league record with a win over Attenborough Colts.

Playing on a pitch that was muddy and made passing harder Sports tried to keep playing their own game passing as much as the conditions would allow with Paice Lees, Joe Priestley and Matthew Brierley making some great moves to create chances on goal. Sports kept on getting forward and having shots on goal with Joe Hewitt and Joe Priestley forcing good saves out of the Attenborough keeper. Sports's pressure finally paid when Matthew Brierley received the ball back from a Sports throw and his cross/shot went over the keeper into the far corner. Attenborough kept trying to get level but man of the match Sam Abbott and fellow defender Jack Grainger kept them at bay. Sports got a second just before the break when an attack down the left found Joe Hewitt in space to fire past the keeper into the net from the edge of the area.

2-0 at half time but not for long because in just over a minute of the restart Sports made it 3-0 when Joe Hewitt controlled the ball in the area and pushed it past the keeper. Sports used their subs and despite having most of the play failed to score mainly due to the good saves made by the Attenborough keeper. Sports had very few problems at the back but what there was Aaron Bradley kept out for his sixth clean sheet of the season.

Overall a good performance in difficult conditions against a team who kept trying but could not match Sports firepower.
