Attenborough Colts Red 1 Hucknall Sports U10's White 6
Sunday 25th September 2005
A hat trick of hat tricks was completed by Joe Hewitt of Hucknall Sports White when they travelled to Attenborough Colts Red, keeping Sport's good start flowing.
The game got off to a slow start with Attenborough closing Sports down well and making it hard for them to flow. Sports finally got moving and took the lead when Joe Hewitt picked a loose ball up from a goal kick and slipped the ball to the right wing to Paice Lees who ran at the defence and crossed a low ball that was met by Joe Priestley on the far post to knock it home. Sports then started to play some nice football and had more chances before a long shot from Joe Gills was pushed away by the keeper, only for Paice Lees to chase it down, cross into the area and Joe Priestley run in and fire home. On fifteen minutes Sports made it three when man of the match Paice Lees chased a loose ball, which he passed inside to Joe Hewitt who beat a defender and fired home. Sports finished the half with another goal when Joe Hewitt shot from a long distance and beat the keeper above is head.
Four nil up at half time Sports put on the subs with the hard working Matthew Brierley giving way to Sam Straw. In the second half Attenborough defended hard and made Sports work for every ball, but went further behind when a short goal kick from Joe Gill to Sam Abbott was worked up the line to Paice Lees who slipped it in to Sam Straw, he rode a tackle to feed Joe Hewitt who fired home for his hat trick. Sports made more changes and paid the price when Attenborough got a deserved reward for their hard work with a goal from Nick Grayson. This got Sports going and they made amends when Michael South had his shot saved only for Mitchell (butch) Cassidy to steal in and finish into the corner. Sports had plenty of chances to make it more but were kept out by the hard working Attenborough defence making some last ditch stops.
Overall another good team performance in which every player made a contribution to be proud of. Well done!
