Wollaton Hall Green 0 Hucknall Sports U8's White 3

Saturday September 10th 2005

Today on a very wet Saturday, saw the Under 8 Whites first league match of the season at Wollaton Hall Green.

Straight from the kick-off, Sports took control off the game with Cory Rose going close twice within the first 5 minutes. Wollaton then broke on the attack and would have scored but for a fantastic save by Jacob Clarke. On the 10 minute mark Jordan Fretwell passed the ball from just outside the defence to Brody Asher, who in turn passed to Cory Rose. Cory then ran with the ball and hit it just outside the area to make it 1-0 to Sports at half time.

The second half proved to be much the same with Sports having most of the possession and when Wollaton did break through the midfield of Jordan Fretwell and Jack Jayes, then the defence of Adam Ellis and Jake Tilford managed to keep them at bay.

Once again it was Cory Rose who scored his second of the game after the goalie stumbled and missed the ball due to the downpour of the rain, to poke the ball into the back of the net.

Sports third goal came from the two substitutes Jordan Trueman (on for Brody) and Thomas Minns (on for Jack Jayes). Sports won a free kick just inside Wollaton's half and Jordan Trueman hit the free kick towards the goal and the ball slipped under the goalie and Thomas was there to just tap it into the net.

It was an outstanding performance from all the boys considering the poor weather conditions and the man of the match went to Cory Rose.
