A depleted but valiant Keyworth side give it their all but Sports make no mistakes and take three valuable away points.

Keyworth started this game defensively with everyone behind the ball, which made it tough going for Sports in the early stages, but with some excellent link up play between Joseph Walker and Stephen Whitley in midfield and man of the match Richard Allen as the outlet up front it was inevitable that the goals would come.
Whitley was to bag his first of a brace of goals after
running at the Keyworth defence and firing home hard and low from just outside
the box. Sports continued to press, winning a succession of corners that Liam
Kilcullen was delivering menacingly into the box. It was from one of these
corners that Allen saw his near post header denied by a fine save from the
Keyworth keeper but minutes later he was credited with Sports second goal when
Whitley forced a defensive error. Walker and Kilcullen were both denied by good
work from the Keyworth keeper, Walker saw his effort pushed wide and
Kilcullen’s well-struck freekick was confidently gathered. Keyworth continued
to work hard for each other and tried to push forward when they saw an
opportunity but never really troubled the Sports keeper.
Sports started the second half a lot stronger and settled
into their flowing pass and move game and were soon rewarded when Whitley
confidently struck home from an acute angle for his second goal of the day.
Allen was to make it four when he coolly finished off a move that started with a
clearance from Thomas Howarth who had an excellent debut game for Sports. Daniel
Long was to make it five with his well driven shot and should have made it six
after winning the ball in his own half running down the wing, cutting inside and
unleashing a venomous shot that went narrowly wide. A move that even got the
referee excited. Harrison Carlin got his first goal of the season when he
capitalised on an error by the Keyworth keeper to make the final score six-nil
to Sports.
