Hucknall Sports Under 9's Sunday 6 Long Eaton Utd Blue 0

Sunday 30th October 2005

Sports march on, with yet another victory, clean sheet and first-class performance.

Jack Henry Williams opened the scoring for Sports reacting quickest to finish smartly at the near post after Kieran Sheppard had supplied the cross from the left. It was Sheppard who set up the second goal moments later. This time pinging in a corner from the right hand side, for Josh Pickering to skilfully chest the ball over the line. The home side went on to dominate the first half, playing the ball about like a team brimming with confidence. The only thing lacking was the end product, as the Long Eaton defensive unit battled valiantly to keep the score down.

One of the biggest plus points for the Under 9’s is their strength in depth. Tom Shaw, Aaron Bond and McCauley Walker  all made second half appearances, ensuring the opposition would remain under the cosh. The third goal saw Kieran Sheppard turn from provider to poacher. When Emilio Monaci's thundering effort crashed down off the underside of the bar Kieran was on hand to tap in the rebound from close range. Man of the match Emilio was determined to get in on the goal-scoring act though. Forcing a mistake from his marker and then slotting under the keeper from the tightest of angles. Aaron Bond showed there’s nobody better at one on ones, finishing in real style for goal number five. But it was the skipper who wrapped up the show. Kieran Sheppard lofted the ball superbly over the keeper from the edge of the area, to give Sports a convincing 6-0 victory.
