Sports chalked up another win with this emphatic score,
to push towards the top spot in the division.
Within a minute of the kick off Sports stamp their
authority on this game with their first goal, Reegan Morris picks up a loose
ball in the middle of the park, passes the ball through the defence, into the
path of Daniel Long and his first time effort gives the keeper no chance.
Before too long Hucknall are two up, from a throw by Ben
Oscroft to Joseph Walker, he controls well sees Daniel Long on a run and puts a
lovely ball through to him, his shot hits the post and Walker who started the
move is there to tap the ball home. Number three comes from a cross by Oscroft
and Long hits the ball on the volley to send the ball flying into the net.Kimberley
pull one back through the lively number 10, his tricky ball play gets him past
two defenders and he taps in from close range.
Hucknall pick the pace up, and from a short goal kick by
Kimberley Morris wins his challenge on the defender, he takes it forward and
with only the keeper to beat easily picks his spot to make it 4-1. Morris also
bags the fifth, from a long goal Kick from Stephen Whitley Oscroft heads it on
and Morris is there to make it 5-1.
The second half begins with a number of changes to the Sports
side but the momentum of scoring doesn’t stop. Number six was possibly the
best goal, Rian Charles controlling well a goal kick, finds Joe Barnes in space,
his one two with Ben Clarke is a delight, Barnes cleaver ball skills gets him
round two defenders and he sees Clarke waiting and his inch perfect pass gives
Clarke his chance to put Sports 6-1 up. Number seven is an own goal which comes
from the lively Joe Harrison’s shot. Harrison gets his reward for his
persistence when he receives a pass from Charles, and from outside the penalty
area his fierce shot gives the keeper no chance to put Sports 8-1 up.
Number nine is also an own goal. Sports get into double figures with a long clearance by Thomas Howarth, the Kimberley defence can only half get it away and the eager Barnes running on, hits it first time into the net. Barnes later wins “The Man of the Match” award. After some more good work in the middle Barnes wins the ball and his lob over the Kimberley defence finds Harrison in space, he makes no mistake as he makes it 11-1.
