Hucknall Sports U11's White 0 Rainworth Tigers 6
Sunday 26th November 2006
Hucknall Sports U11's White continued with their improvement when they went up against the league leaders Rainworth Tigers.
Rainworth had beaten Sports easily a month ago but things proved tougher this time with Sports giving in this time. Sports put effort in to the game with every player trying and they frustrated Rainworth for large parts of the game. Sports went a goal down on thirteen minutes when Rainworth finally broke through the Sports blockade to score past the stand in keeper. Sports went to sleep from the restart and went two down when an attempted clearance was intercepted and finished by Rainworth. Sports dug deep and closed the ball down well but should have been three down when rainworth got a penalty, awarded for a challenge by man of the match Jordan Fell. With the keeper making himself big Rainwoth hit the bar but Sports did go three down when Rainworth again beat the offside to run on and score.
The second half Sports again kept Rainwoth frustrated but let in three more goals and finally losing 6-0, but Sports can hold their head high because this match was a win compared to the last time they met Rainworth, so heads up lads, every one of you gave your best. Well done, a league win is not far away.
