With the Cup match cancelled Hucknall Sports took on local rivals Bulwell in a x2 20 minutes friendly match.

Starting with a strong line-up Sports produced some nice football in difficult conditions but failed to find a way past a very brave Bulwell goalkeeper. Evans and Barlow combined well to create openings for Hallam and others but the first 20 mins passed by with the scores unchanged at 0-0.

A completely new set of players took to the pitch for the second period, but the same high level of football was maintained. Finally, the breakthrough came with NEWTON bundling the ball over the line during a goal mouth scramble. Bulwell upped their game and deservedly got back on level terms with a goal from their own scramble in the Hucknall penalty area.

With the scores locked at 1-1 a 10 minute each way 'extra time' match was hastily arranged. Hucknall finally produced a clear-cut opening from which HALLAM scored by beating the Bulwell keeper to a through-ball to slot calmly into the bottom corner. Despite good pressure from Bulwell they could not find a way through the Hucknall defenders or goalie Brown who made a number of fine catches and organised his 'troops' well.
