Injury hit Whites suffer defeat

Playing away to unbeaten Greenwood Meadows was always going to be challenge for Whites but a battling performance in the first half took us into the break with the score at 1-0.

Aided by the defensive partnership of SMITH and DAVIES, Goalie BROWN continued his improvement to produce a commanding performance and denied the opposition time and again with his brave keeping. Chances at the other end of the pitch were few and far between, with Hucknall's best openings created from corners where we just failed to apply the finishing touches to force a goal.

With the Greenwood manager scratching his head wondering what to do next half time arrived with Whites still in contention - Little do we know what was about to happen in the second half.

In the second half, one after one the Hucknall players were struck down with injuries to EVANS, ORTON, HALLAM and SMITH where all struck down at various times and as a result we lost our shape and composure. Greenwood piled on the pressure and stormed to 5-0 in next to no time with a mixture of brilliant football on their part and poor play on the part of Hucknall.

Let's not dwell on the negatives of this game, we know we can all play much better than this and I have every confidence that our first win is just around the corner.

Man of the Match Award went to the BROWN for a wonderful Goalkeeping performance, especially in the first half.
