Hucknall Sports U9's Saturday 2 Burton Joyce 1
Saturday 14th February 2009
It was touch and go whether the match should take place with the who has pitch still hard in a few places, in the end the ref and both sides were happy to play.
Burton started the match the better side with some excellent passing moves, being given a lot of space. Sports just couldnt find the rhythm and became worse with a knock to striker Oliver Bradbury.Matt Bloor came on and within minutes had to come off when, blocking a shot, got caught in the chest area and was badly winded. On came Joseph Palethorpe who has shown positive signs in training lately. He recieved a ball on the left and had a shot inches wide of the post. Burton finished the1st half a goal up with another good move.
Sports made a few changes at half time moving Josh Pearson up into midfield, bringing Oliver Bradbury back on on the left and Ellis Abbott on the right. This was more like the Sports we have been seeing recently, using the width of the pitch and passing the ball around. It wasnt long before Sports found the equalizer when Josh Pearson went past a couple of players and fired past the keeper.
The pitch was getting a lot heavier and legs were getting tired but Sports still managed to find another gear with 3 minutes left some neat passing found Pearson who again made no mistake and fired past the keeper. Sports were unlucky again right at the end when the Burton keeper made a good save.
