At last the win!
Sports started the more lively team with some neat passing football from the off. Again though Sports just couldn't get the ball in the net with shots and corners a plenty and the ball hitting the crossbar and being scrambled away from a Oliver Bradbury effort. Carlton completed the 1st half with some good attempts on goal.
The second half brought on Aaron Roberts in defence which enabled Morgan Jubb to move to the right wing and give Sports a more attacking option. Carlton went close again with an headed effort. With about 10 minutes to go the ball was played out right to Jubb who crossed along the edge of the penalty area to the oncoming defender and team captain Ryan Butler to smack into the top left corner, 1-0. Sports brought on Charlie Walker up front for Bradbury who had been man marked for much of the game and instantly had 2 attacks on goal, one just managing to be cleared off the goal line. With only a couple of minutes left Sports moved Josh Pearson back into a 3 man defence and came away with a hard fought victory.
With the chances Sports have created in the the last 2 games it will not be long before these chances are turned into goals and a high scoring victory will be recorded.
Man of the match today was Sam Price who had a great game filling in as goalkeeper, well done!
