Hucknall Sports U9's Saturday 2 Wollaton 0
Saturday 28th February 2009
Sports continued their good run with another well earned victory against a wollaton side that had beaten them by a single goal earlier in the season.
From the off Sports piled on the pressure with some good passing and tackling. A corner from the left from Matt Bloor found Oliver Bradbury who's shot was parried out by the keeper but staight into the path of Ryan Butler who made no mistake with a strike into the roof of the net.The wollaton keeper was outstanding today keeping the score down to the single goal at half time.
The second half started much the same, but with Wollaton creating more chances. Sam Price came on for Josh Pearson and played his usual style of play, agrivating the Wollaton players with his close marking, like a Jack Russell at your ankles. It wasnt long before Sports went 2 up when a shot was dropped by the keeper and Oliver Bradbury was there to pounce on the loose ball.
More good passing found Bradbury in the penalty area who turned and was brought down by the defender, Penalty!.Bradbury ran up shot to the left corner and somehow the impressive Wollaton keeper tipped it round the post.
The game finished 2-0, a good team performance. Man of the match went to Sam Price who didnt give the Wollaton midfield time to think.
