Hucknall Sports U9's Saturday 3 Rolls Royce Leisure 5
Saturday 29th November 2008
This was a fantastic example of two teams giving 100% in an exciting 1st division game. The pace of the game never slowed down from start to finish.
Sports took the lead through Captain Ryan Butler, but was soon leveled by Rolls. Sports had the better of the first half, but lost Josh Pearson with ten minutes to go. Oliver Bradbury came on to cover the midfield area with some good passing and tackling. Matthew Bloor put Sports ahead just before the break. Half time 2-1.
Again both sides played some good fast football and it wasn't long before Rolls got the equalizer. Rolls took the lead with a lot of pressure from long throws from Curtis Hall finding Trevel Lindo to knock home. Sports attack again and Matt Bloor finds the corner of the net with a good left foot strike.
A controversial decision by the ref gave Rolls the lead claiming the ball had crossed the goal line. With only minutes remaining Rolls win a corner and Matt Bloor completes his hatrick of goals ,this time into his own net. Final score 3-5.
Credit must be given to both sides playing good quality football, it was a shame that the match didn't end up a draw because there was nothing between the 2 teams. Nice to see that Hucknall has probably the best 2 teams at this age group. Well done boys.
