Hucknall Sports Under 17’s 1  West Bridgford B U18's 1

Saturday 31st October 2009

Notts Youth League Division 2 Saturdays

Top of the table Sports played host to West Bridgford B U18’s.

The first half saw Sports on a back foot struggling to contain the strong midfield of the Bridgford side.  Bridgford went 1-0 up from a fantastic 30yard strike from Jake Scaddan that should be entered for goal of the week.  Sports tried to get back on top but the visitors were just too strong.

From the off in the second half Sports looked like they meant business.  Again Sports dug deep and had a few chances which should have been converted.  Tom Teer managed to equalise from an inch perfect pass from Alex Orton.  Going level enthused Sports to raise their game but just could not find the back of the net.  Again the back four of Sports were unbeatable led by Man of the match Harry Handley.  West Bridgford did not lie down and came back at Sports. This led to some end to end football, which took it to the final whistle to know where the game would end.  The final whistle blew at 1-1 to which both sides seemed happy to take a point each from the game.
