Under 15's White

2006 -  2007

The team have continued to develop this season and thanks to new sponsor Formation Training, started the new season looking the part with new kit and training tops.

Following a slow start to the season the team began to gel as the new players settled in and despite a few injury setbacks along the way, recorded a well-deserved win at Kimberley. The winning goal coming from fully 40 yards out. A thrilling cup game followed where Sports narrowly lost out to higher league opposition, but as is the way with this team they bounced back at Gedling. 3 nil down at half time the boys turned on the style and the game on its head as 4 second half goals defeated a well organised Gedling team.

The lads continued to play their football and turned up in their numbers every week for training, despite some atrocious weather conditions and their loyalty was rewarded as more wins followed. In an extremely tight division Sports can be proud of their achievements and look forward already to next season and a run at promotion.

Whilst not blessed with individual superstars, what makes this team such a pleasure to manage is the sheer tenacity of the players, the way the lads stick together and their never say die attitude. None more so was this epitomised than in the final game of the season as Sports kept their heads and played their best football of the season to defeat high flying Southchurch Colts 4 – 1 away from home.

The players should be proud of their achievements this season, as we know the parents and managers are.
