Managers Comments
I would firstly like to thank all the players who played with the team this season and had the faith to stay with us.
Having a season of ups and downs we improved on last season, finishing tenth in the league. For most of the season they battled against lady luck and against more established teams. Each and every week these guys gave their best, beating teams in the top four and worrying the rest for long periods of the games, before going down to the odd goal.
All the players have improved and with the majority of the team staying for another season we can improve again. They just need to keep together.

Players, Player of the Year Jamie Blagden What can I say about this player? He never falls out or says a bad word against his peers who have voted for him. He works hard in every game he plays and dislikes losing. He has the ability to play in any position and tends to take control when a leader is required so it is little wonder they all voted for him and the management think it’s the right choice. |

Sportsman / Most Improved Player Dean Copley This one was easy because this player shows up week in week out, pays his subs on time, lets you know if he his not coming, tries his best every time, listens to what he his being told & gets on with it and puts more effort in getting to games than some do in the game. He has been on a fitness kick since the start of the season and the fact he cycles from Kirkby to Hucknall for matches and training puts him in front. He has also improved with his control and his passing is now to feet and he runs his legs off doing what ever you ask him to do. This player has developed in such a massive way over the season that this was a easy choice for most improved player. |

Managers, Player of the Year Jamie Blagden This was hard to choose from a team of twenty two players over the season. To pick one has had us talking for weeks, changing our minds time and time again, because each and every player in this team has put in a performance worthy of this award. After twice choosing the team we narrowed it down but still the choice got no easier and after being locked in a room for hours one player pinched it. His performance in games can be outstanding but the way this player has put effort in every game he has played in, never not trying, always wanting the team to win and getting frustrated when lady luck goes the other way. This player with better luck would have had twenty goals and if he learns to shoot more freely will hit those heights next season. |
