Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2009
Under 14's

Managers Comments
It would certainly be true to say that the U14's completed their last season in the YEL with quite an amazing campaign. Still managing to hold together the majority of the players who began with this side at u8s, and some even earlier, the team managed to have its most successful and enjoyable season to date.
In the league Sports were on
the losing side only 3 times in 24 games, even though they had suffered 2
defeats by early October. A few
draws as the season drew to a close with fixtures coming thick and fast meant
that the runners up spot eluded the team by a single point, although
in their penultimate league game they completely outplayed and outclassed
the eventual league champions beating them in a comfortable 3-1 victory.
An exciting cup run saw the
side make it to their first ever final, conceding only 2 goals and scoring 28 en
route and although their opponents had already been defeated by Sports twice in
the league, a single goal after 5 minutes was enough to deny the team some
silverware. The result aside, the squad and all connected had a wonderful night
and a very memorable post final party 2 days later!
A massive well done from nick and chris to all the lads and as usual a big thank you to all parents for all their support and making match days as atmospheric as possible. Roll on 2009/2010 in the Notts Youth League .

Players, Player of the Year When a
footballer has a large amount of natural talent it may be easy for them to
succeed, but when a player has to work so very hard to achieve their goals
the taste of success should taste that little bit sweeter. With this
in mind, the winner of this award must understand how his hard work and
damn right commitment to the teams cause has won him the admiration of all
of his team-mates, resulting in his peers voting him their top player this
season. Although
a cliché, any manager would love to have a player like this at their
disposal, or even 11 of them! A
vigorously competitive player both on the pitch and on the training
ground, this young man has somehow managed to eclipse last seasons
personal achievements having won the managers player of the year last time
round. Ever
reliable, unbeatable, stubborn, never say die and a leader by example are
the sort of things that would describe this players qualities, as well as
an ever improving technical ability across all aspects of his game. His team mates love him, his manager would not be without him and he is just as popular with parents and supporters alike as he is with his peers. |

Most Improved Player Ethan Tindall This
award this season goes to a player who you may call a bit of an unsung
hero. Maybe
in previous seasons this lad
has struggled to show consistency in his performances but this has
radically changed this time round and is one of the main reasons for him
being awarded this accolade. Throughout
the year this player has got his head down and worked really hard at his
game, which with some wonderful performances
has really shone through. Going
from strength to strength, quite literally, he has gained in confidence
and now imposes himself in games much more noticeably, with all aspects of
his play greatly improving over the season. A
quiet confidence now exudes from this young man, so considering his
popularity within the squad, this gives all connected with the team a huge
sense of happiness. Much deserved and 100% accurate |

Managers, Player of the Year Josh Henrys At any
age and at any level of football, a players consistency in his
performances is extremely important.
So when this quality amongst many others shines through you know
you are very lucky to be able to pick a very special player for your team. This
young man has excelled this season in all areas of his play, particularly
his contribution in attacking play and his wonderful ability to strike a
dead ball. The teams top scorer this season, but this accolade is only the
beginning. Hard working, technical brilliance
and an ability to single handedly change a
game to his teams advantage are
the sort of qualities people notice about this lad. Recognised
at the start of the season as an individual who should represent his
county at schools football and deservedly so, he has made his parents,
friends and family very, very proud! Hucknall Sports through and through and delighted to be so. |
