Managers Comments
Round
up, over the Years.
I have loved managing this team and never had any issues with the them and also the club itself. I would like to thank every one of you for your hard work. We have had our ups and downs over the seasons, being runners up twice, relegated twice, winning the cup and also loosing one in the final. We also got to the quarter finals of the FA shield when we were in the 3rd division, losing in the last minute against a top of division 1 team. Remember it Nick Ward, only joking mate! But I always enjoyed the seasons regardless.
We were voted twice the best
team for Hucknall Sports, which I was very proud to be involved with. I am very
pride of all my players, old and new, but mostly how three players who have
followed me through every season. Josh Davenport, Josh must have scored
150 goals for me over the seasons and never got booked. Matt Innes, who
again played his heart out for the club and scored a wonder goal for us from 40
yards out in the cup final win. Lastly
my captain, Nick Ward. What a
captain, commanded the area, and has total respect from all the players.
He is a certain winner wherever he goes. Thanks lads.
So this is my last season with Sports, I think anyway, so I will sign off by saying thanks to all the management committee and all the managers, mums and dads, who have come to most matches supporting their team and a final one for my players. Thanks for 10 great seasons lads. You never know, it could be the men’s league for us next season.

Players, Player of the Year Jack Matthews This lad plays his heart out for the club and never gives less then 100% in every match. He started off as a forward and ended up playing in midfield. He scored 6 goals, including 3 against Keyworth United. He works his socks off winning most of the balls in his midfield role. He is a quiet lad who never speaks out of turn with the referee’s. He signed on for Sports this season, and deserves this award. |

Most Improved Player Paul Parkinson The player deserves this award because he has improved with every season he has been with the club. He plays in most roles, working and winning the ball for Sports. He has played right wing, right back, midfield, and in the last match he nearly played in goal for us! He also plays up front for us, scoring 7 goals, again including a hat-trick against Radcliffe Olympic. |

Managers, Player of the Year Jack Matthews Again very difficult to pick as there are so many players at the club who gave 100% for Sports. We thought that one player edged and shone more than any other player over the season. He gave his all in every match and scored some vital goals for us. He has the award from the player’s player and again he will receive the award from the management. Our only regret is that he didn’t sign for us years ago! He is talented, skilful and never has a bad game. |
