Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2009

Under 9's White

Managers Comments

The boys worked very hard in pre season training and this paid off with an excellent start to the season in Division Two of the YEL Sunday Section. In the run up to Christmas the team only lost one game and sat at the top of the League going into the new year. Unfortunately due to a long break for bad weather the team found it difficult to continue the momentum. On their day this side can compete and beat any of the top sides as they have shown with victories over both Wollaton and Sherwood.

The players have started to mature and work hard for each other. They are full of encouragement for each other and even after a defeat they hold their heads high knowing they have given 100% and been beaten by a better team on the day.

We are all looking forward to the new Season as Under 10's and hope to have Silverware to show off at next seasons presentation evening.

A big thank you  also to Kim, Louise, Wendy, Kathy and all the mums and ladies for all the help over Season!

Players, Player of the Year

Ryan Wood

Voted for by his team mates and he deserves this award for effort and skill he has shown this season.

Hard working in training and hard working during the game, playing most of the season wide in midfield. He is a box to box player with the right foot of a much older player.

He is furious but also fair in the tackle and he never turns away even when facing lads a lot taller than himself. He has scored lots of goals this season and always stands up to be counted when it matters. This lad dribbles and scores goals for fun. Watch this space!

Most Improved Player

Alex Concannon

This award has been voted for by our parents and he is more  than worthy of the award.

This young man plays to win weather we are doing training, penalty shootouts or matches and gives everything for the cause. This season he has played in every position but it is in the centre of defence where he has matured into a quality footballer. Commanding the players around him and also creating time for himself on the ball to make the pass rather than just looking to put his foot threw the ball.

I still think he sees himself as a striker and he has scored some goals this year and if he continues to improve at this rate he will be giving his manager the right sort of headaches.

Managers, Player of the Year

Cameron Murdoch

This player gives everything and more.

The quality of his football is beyond his age group and he sets an excellent example of a footballer to his team mates and Hucknall Sports YCFC as a whole. In the centre of midfield week in week out he gives a display of skill and determination for the good of the team and not for his own individual praise.

He's scores goals with both his right and left feet but is also quick to get back and put a leg in wear it matters. He is polite young man and a joy to manage.
