Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2010
Under 13's Black

Managers Comments
With
a change in management just after Christmas and several players leaving there
was not much hope for the Under 13’s Black... Sitting bottom of the table
without a point heads were down and so were the player’s, although a few
remained such is their love of football.
With
the introduction of some new players, new belief and fun we started to not only
pick up some points but to have some fun which of course is what it’s all
about. With confidence growing we went on to pick points up from teams that we
had previously lost to. Our aim was to keep out of the relegation zone as the
players were too good for that. The light at the end of the tunnel grew as we
fought for a place in the U13 Sunday Trophy final.
Finishing
the season 8th to secure Division two football next season has been
fantastic. The short time these players have played together has been truly
remarkable to finish the season on such a high.
The
pinnacle of the season being the trophy final where all players played their
part in a superb 7-2 victory over a team we had never beat, with some excellent
goals that could have made it on match of the day for goal of the month!
On-wards
and up-wards looking forward to next season well done boys!

Players, Player of the Year Ben Oscroft I
have known this lad since he was 7 and have always been a great admirer of
his talent, a true unspoken hero. He
has given his all to the team not only in training but on match days as
well, coming off and taking his boots off to let out the steam. He has led
by example for players to look up to with his tireless running, tackling
and passing. On a personal note it’s been fantastic to see this player
back in the stripes of Sports. |

Sportsman / Most Improved Player Elliott Langton As voted by the parents. There
have been several player’s improving in the latter half of this season
playing some excellent football. However,
what
a season this player has had, truly making this position his own. The
biggest landslide votes for one player for this award I have ever known
and rightly so. He has developed into one of the best players in this
position not only in Division 2 but Division 1 alike. A polite, likeable
friend to everyone, an asset to any team. His first year at U13’s
playing club football. Head
and shoulders above the rest. |

Managers, Player of the Year Adam Boyfield With
half the season gone when I arrived, the award for managers player could
have gone to several players who produced some stunning football, with a
will to win. This
players head, never dropping when winning or losing, always the glass half
full. He has developed into a superb player bringing others into the game,
a total team player. Whatever position I have put him in, he never moans
and always plays to the best of his abilities. He has had a fantastic
season with Hucknall Sports, with more to come next season, big in heart
and presence. |
