Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2010
Under 13's Red

Managers Comments
What
can I say about this talented group of lads? I am so proud of them and their
achievements’ this season it’s been an immense pleasure managing such a
superb bunch of lads on and off the pitch.
They
have worked hard all season in training and in matches to produce some
outstanding football, with every player playing their part to make this team so
successful this season. Re-writing the record books with not only a second County
Shield, the YEL U 13’s Cup and also winning all 20 of their league games and
scoring 221 goals doing so. They also went to Mabblethorpe near the end of the
season winning the 11 a side competion and winners and runners up in the 5 a
side competion.
This
years icing on the cake was going to Birmingham in the Central England regional
final which they won, winning a place at Pride Park in the English final,
winning teams who themselves were champions of the county. Also picking up
trophies for defender of the tournament Ben Clarke and player of the tournament
Joe Worrall.
Finally
I have been asked by several opposition managers this season after games “how
do you keep on doing it” my reply has always been the same, it’s not me
it’s the lads! I would like to thank the team for such an excellent season and
thank the parents for all their help, and of course the parents bringing them to
training and matches.

Players, Player of the Year Mark Shelton With so many players playing their part this season, players player was a close run in when counting the votes. This player has matured into one of the best U13 players I have every seen, his vision, ability and skill on the pitch is to be admired, which it obviously is by his team mates . He has had an outstanding season missing only 1 game when he was playing for his school in a cup final, then turning up to our game asking if he could still play! He
is everybody’s friend on and off the pitch a true talisman for team and
club. |

Sportsman / Most Improved Player Adam Boyfield As voted by the parents. There are several players in my opinion who could have won this award with players improving all season. This player’s attitude to training and matches has been fantastic all season; it’s been a pleasure to see and to coach. He has the ability to change games with his vision and straight forward thinking, scoring goals with precision and ease. He sometimes unselfishly passes when his dad and I are yelling for him to shoot. He
has always been a very sociable lad with great friends on and off the
pitch. He never lets his head go down and is always on hand to help. |

Managers, Player of the Year Joe Worrall I
was looking to give this award to a player who has excelled in football at
training and match days, has played to their ability and has always given
100%. Now my only trouble is there is more than one player who has done
just that. This award has probably been the hardest one for me personally
to award as there are so many candidates. As in highlander “there can only be one” this player has always had the right attitude to training and match days, not only with me but with his team mates. His skill and determination on the pitch makes him a very key player within the side. His ability to score at one end and clear the ball of the line at the other is remarkable to the effort he puts in week in week out. I know this player is admired by how many votes he received for player’s player. A player whose name is known to every manager in the YEL, for he really thinks the ball is his! A true professional. |
