Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2010
Under 16's White

Managers Comments
After
last season we weren’t even sure we could, or even should run, after we only
managed to get a full strength 11 out on a few occasions. We did not get a point
all season, we had no regular keeper and players playing in different positions
each week.
But
with the help of a few quality additions to supplement the 10 gluttons for
punishment, 12 with Fraser and me, we carried on.
We
had to wait until the 5th game of the season for our first win,
quickly followed by our cup win over new team Brinsley Red Sox, a team we also
did the double over in the league.
We
have a real team spirit in our 17 man squad most of whom are here tonight, so
from Fraser and Barry, we would like to say,
“

Players, Player of the Year Stephen Fogg This
player joined Hucknall Sports at the beginning of 09 /10 season and
quickly became the players and managers no.1 choice every Saturday. Constantly
looking to improve his game and throughout the season has increased in
confidence commanding his box more, leaving his line more and dominating
the set plays. The statistician amongst the team he can tell you who are
where in the league, how many points, goals for, goals against and can
list your fixtures without hesitation showing a true commitment to his
team and the league. A worthy choice from the team and backed wholly by his manager and coach

Most Improved / Sportsman of the Year Danny Stenson Most improved player goes to one of the veteran guys amongst the team. This
player has stuck with us through thick and thin and always turned up to
training and matches and dug in when needed. He has gone from strength to
strength this season and the other players have started to depend on his
presence and ability in midfield, supporting both the strikers and defence
alike. Through balls and a good eye for goal have been his strengths this
season and an awareness and clever passing ability have been the key to
this award. Fully supported by his team mates, manager and coach.

Managers, Player of the Year Josh Burton This has been a tough choice this year after a lot of good performances from the team but this player has always been consistent and reliable, his ability and stature on the pitch have improved week on week this season and he has become an integral part of the team. His ability to progress down the left with a few passes and onto goal has increased and the players are starting to use his skills more and more when attacking with width relying on this guys pace and touch to get them onto goal. He has played a variety of positions this year but this award is for his skill and ability on the left wing. |
