Voted for by a large majority, this lad goes around quietly and does whatever is asked of him, in whatever position, which epitomizes the spirit in the team. Has just completed his 2nd season with us and has improved all the time |

It
sums up the support for each other in that we had 7 nominations
which goes to show that the lads know we are dependant on each
other and also recognising the different strengths each player
brings to the team. Also interesting to note that the winner has only
played with most of the team for the first time this year and with his
ballistic left foot scored the crucial 2nd goal against West Bridgford. This
young man has come back to us after 5 years at Rolls Royce. |

We'd seriously like to award everyone in the squad this trophy as everyone has played their part and it's difficult to pick out someone. Be it Craig Raynor for his work between the sticks, Liam Collins for being a rock at centre half in the latter stages of the season and so releasing Nick Waldron into a more creative role,Adam, James, Rico, Pat and Olly for their tireless midfield efforts, Andy, Luke, Ross Billyeald, Jon for their defensive efforts, Matt Booth for returning to the club on an occasional basis, work permitting, to help us, and so on. We
finally whittled it down to 2, Ross Cheeseman for his creative and
intelligent play which made other players play as well as notching 14
important goals in his first season with us and Nikhil Dhiri, known by
opponents for his tremendous pace and never say die attitude which has
brought him goals when it seemed the chance had gone and which distracted
the opposition from our other players. 2 very contrasting frontmen. However,
21 goals in 15 games including 4 hatricks, and leading scorer for
the 2nd year running says it all. |
