Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2005

Under 10's

Sportsman of the Year

Kamran Kahn

This season the under 10s Sportsman of the Year is arguably the teams most improved player. With the team playing the best opposition in the league, week in, week out, sometimes opportunities to have a sustained run in the team have been hard to come by. Indeed, this player has been asked to fulfill many roles this year. Playing in defence, midfield and up front, he has shown commitment and enthusiasm in all instances when given the chance. Nick and Andy have high hopes for this player next season and they are certain that with more competitive football under his belt he will develop even quicker than he has already this season. Strong, fast and surprisingly, quick feet are this lads strongest attributes, along with his eagerness to learn and face up to new challenges.

Players, Player of the Year

Fraser Flint

Another close run thing again this season and as expected the lads voted for many different players, for many different reasons. A three horse race in the end but, the winner will, I am sure, come as no surprise to anyone connected with the team. This seasons winner had the following said about him by his team mates:-  A leader by example,   totally committed to the team, strong, tenacious, hard working and tough tackling. A fairly comprehensive description and extremely accurate but add this to his managers thoughts:- aggressive, winner, much improved and cheeky. You will have a clear picture of this players position within the squad and his high regard from all involved.

Managers, Player of the Year

Kieran Clarke

Due to the magnitude of the task facing Nick and Andy to choose just one top player, this seasons managers player award has had input from the players' parents. It would be fair to say that the award could have gone to any one of four players. Predictably the  parents thought the same but, went some way in helping to pick just one boy.
This lad has got it all. He is quick, he is hard working, he has vision, he can and does score goals, he is tenacious and if he can add consistency to his game he would be an even better footballer.
A real crowd pleaser when on form, this lad is very exciting to watch and on many occasions mesmerises his opponents with his slight of touch and trickery.
