Sportsman of the Year Samuel Wells This award was voted on by all the parents this season and the outcome being a clear majority for a player who made an impression on everyone. This player is a smashing person who never complains, never asks when he is going on, never moans if substituted, always gives his all and always pays full attention at training. He has learnt to give back what he was on the receiving end of for much of last season. This player has always shown talent and has caused many a headache trying to fit in those special feet he owns giving him the ability to weave his way past players, control the most difficult of passes, but only to be shoved off the ball by some bigger player. This season he has shown that on the pitch he is no longer a pushover and has even been told by a referee for being too rough proving that good things come in small packages. |

Players, Player of the Year Joe Priestley This player is one of the favourites with the other players. He has had what he would say is an up and down season, not always showing his best even though he tries, not hitting the back of the net as often as he would like but still scoring 7 goals this season. This player might think he has not done well but his team mates think otherwise. That cheeky smile, the way he wears his dads woolly hat, makes this player a very likeable player, who this season has learnt not to run to the corners but to pass for others to score. |

Managers, Player of the Year Joe Hewitt This award goes to a player who has worked hard at his game this season and become a player who can change a game. He has come on in matches and turned them on their head. Gone are the days of sulks, kicking the goal post or rolling on the floor. This is a player who wants to win, who writes down all the teams’ performances and analyses his own efforts. He is happy just to be part of the squad and encourages his teammates during the games while waiting his turn. Of late he has been in the starting line up making a partner for Joe Priestley to feed and with over twenty goals this season helped the whites do well. He is also been scouted by Nottingham Forest and has spent some time at their training sessions but we hope after their performance this season he will hopefully see his future is better here at Hucknall Sports. |
