Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2006

Under 11's

Sportsman of the Year

William Hillary

The under 11’s sportsman of the year is receiving the award due to the fact that more than anything since becoming a member of the squad at under nines he has done his utmost to learn whilst having fun and enjoying himself.

By no means one of the team’s most natural footballers, this lad makes up for it and more by trying to play the game as it should be played, fairly, happily, positively and above all with a determination to do his best for those around him.  His team ethic is second to no one, proved by his ability to fulfill any role or position either in a game or in a coaching drill all done with the same high level of commitment. He is an essential member of this squad, an excellent all rounder and one of the most improved players of the last season.

Players, Player of the Year

Jeremy Moran

When a player joins a team, which is both successful and well established, it can be quite daunting at any age and any level. When this player became a Sports player last summer you can confidently say that he fitted in from day one with all the players, parents and coaches taking an instant liking to him. It was obvious from the early part of the season that this lad would become both a popular player with all and a must have member of the team.

Managers, Player of the Year

Elliot Patman

This seasons Under 11’s Managers Player award goes to someone who has been the most consistent player over the last two seasons.  Having narrowly missed out on the award last time round, Nick and Andy decided to explain to this lad that he only missed out on the trophy because his attitude during numerous games had been far from acceptable and that he was letting his team mates down.

After another good season with numerous man of the match awards this player has managed to improve his attitude 200% and other than the odd outburst he is mentally much stronger and his performances are reflecting this.

Many accolades have come this player’s way from parents and coaches of other teams and we are sure that further improvement will see him progress further on the junior football ladder. Certainly one of the best keepers and on his day arguably the best goalkeeper in the whole league at this age group.
