Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2007
Under 12's

This season's the Under 12's
have once again successfully completed a season in the YEL Division one.
All fifteen players are based
in Hucknall and Nick and Andy also manage to operate a squad rotation system of
sorts which means that on average each player plays at least a full half during
every game. Perhaps this may mean that their league position may suffer at the
end of the year but keeping all players and parents happy and using all local
lads where possible is very important to this group, as team spirit and camaraderie
are at their highest and all would like to keep it that way.
The highlight this season was a
cup run, which saw the team knocked out at the semi-final stage to a goal two
minutes from the end of extra time against a team who at the time were the
league and cup holders, a great display with, as usual, all fifteen players
playing a big part.
Nick and Andy would, as usual,
like to thank all players and parents for their hard work and help and are very
much looking forward to yet another season in the leagues elite division.

Players, Player of the Year Jeremy Moran This
seasons Players Player award goes to the player, who in their opinion as a
group, has consistently played to a high standard and has repeatedly led
by example by his antics both on the pitch and on the training field. With
90% of the votes from his team mates this player should be very proud of
himself and take great pride in the things that his fellow players say
about him. The words and phrases most used were powerful, full of
running, speed to pass people like they are not there, courageous, and so
on. An extremely popular player with all involved with this team and obviously a player who has people looking up to him. |

Sportsman / Most Improved Player Cameron Tait This
seasons Sportsman of the year goes to one of a few players who still
represent the club having started to play for this team way back at U7's We
are particularly pleased to be able to present this award to this lad for
many reasons. As previously mentioned he has just completed his sixth
season with the club and this will be his first award at presentation
night, which is recognition in itself for his commitment and loyalty to
the team. Although his interest in football may have wavered over the last
year or so and despite his chances in the first team being sometimes
limited, the managers feel he has had his best and most improved season
yet. A character in the squad, definitely, an eager learner and certainly one of the most polite and talkative members of the squad. |

Managers, Player of the Year Jeremy Moran A
simple decision in all aspects this season, apart from the fact that this
player unanimously won the vote for players player as well. This
season we found ourselves in a situation that usually tries to be avoided,
but in this case they felt that it was impossible to turn a blind eye to
an individual who has simply been magnificent all season. This player has
week in and week out churned out displays that have had everybody
talking about his marvelous footballing ability. It
is no exaggeration to say that on at least ten different occasions opposition
coaching staff have singled out this player for special praise after a
game. We cannot praise this lad enough for his performances and commitment to the team and hope that he goes on and fulfills his huge potential at this sport. With a little more self belief and maybe arrogance from this unassuming modest young man we all believe that greater things are just around the corner in his footballing career. |
