Annual Awards Presentation Evening 2007
Under 9's White

Last season we learnt how to lose. Last summer we were a total of 5 players, on a sun burnt wigwam pitch. By the time the season started we were 12 payers, unsure, like so many teams, how we were going to perform.
We won our 1st
game 8-0, maybe got lucky! We won
our second game 6-0, no fluke, we played football like I didn’t think they
could. This has continued all year. This
Season we have learnt how to win.
What is most
pleasing is that all season we have had magnificent individual performances,
but, we have played as a team. We
have won as a team, in a manner which has made everyone who has watched them
this season very proud.
The boys have
been sportsmen, but have never given up on themselves, they have never doubted
their ability and they have been richly rewarded.
A record breaking season for the Saturday Under 9’s Whites Division 2 Champions!

Players, Player of the Year Jake Towers He has an unlimited enthusiasm for the game which has enabled him to improve as an individual player. However,
it has also allowed him to involve players around him which in turn has
helped boost their confidence and ultimately helped with their development
too.

Sportsman / Most Improved Player Aaron Watts This is his first season with the Whites and he epitomises everything that is good about junior soccer. He has a competitive spirit, but never has he got carried away this. He has established himself as the heartbeat of the team. Never has he questioned a decision, never has he questioned the management and always gives everything to the team. He is a true box to box team player and he should be very proud of his achievements this year. |

Managers, Player of the Year Adam Ellis This
has to be the toughest decision for the management team this season.
With the success this team has had it has been almost impossible to pick
out one player. All the team have improved beyond recognition. The
hard work each boy has put into the team this year has not only been
breathtaking, but an absolute pleasure to watch. This boy has captained the team all season with an unstoppable desire to succeed. He has made improvements in his game where required, as he has done for the last three seasons. He has demonstrated an almost unrivalled consistency of performance this season which, epitomised by his injury time winner from a full back position, allowing the team to lift the championship trophy. |
