Annual Awards Presentation Evenings 2007

Hucknall Sports Junior Football Club held its 30th annual awards and presentation evenings at the Rolls Royce & Newstead Miners Welfare recently. Due to the ongoing success of the club, they had to hold three separate evenings to cater for over 700 people who attended with the event having to be split into three separate events to cover age groups from the Soccer School, through to the Under 16’s. In total there are 17 teams playing competitive junior soccer for Hucknall Sports as well as a very successful soccer school. 

The awards were presented by an elite group of people from within the local & sporting area namely Wes Morgan one of the stars of Nottingham Forest, Phil Crompton Headmaster of The Holgate School, Andy Eastwood Chairman of Linby Ladies and Phil Shrewsbury well known sports teacher & footballing coach within the local area. 

Over 300 trophies were presented on the various evenings, together with a number of mums & helpers from all the age groups receiving a red rose in appreciation of their help to the individual teams.

This was our best season ever with the return of no fewer than 5 trophies won at the different age groups from the Young Elizabethan League and Notts FA Shield finalists.

Club Awards

The VAP Team Of the Year award voted by all the team managers went to the Under 10’s Red managed by Martin Whitley who completed a league and cup double in the Young Elizabethan League. A tremendous achievement as well getting to the semi finals of the Notts FA Shield.

The most prestigious award within the club, the Irene and Ciss Flint award which was presented by  Irene and Ciss’s daughter Jill Harley was won by Martin Whitley for his outstanding work in promoting  Hucknall Sports in a lot of different ways both on and off the field of play.

The Richard Silverwood Award 
went to Daniel Yates for his total commitment in helping out at the Soccer School
